Watchmen

Debuting March 6th, 2009; Watchmen is a film adaptation of a comic book series from the mid 1980's. The story is about former superheroes living in a future that was altered because of their existence. They had been outlawed and now they are being killed off by mysterious assassins.
I really liked the general plot of the story. It was refreshing to see a superhero movie that questioned the impact superheroes could make in real life. The movie satisfied many different audiences with plenty of action, drama and even a love story.
The overall quality of the film was good and the effects were very well done. The movie had a great cast that all played their roles very well. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would have probably given the movie an 8.
Then Dr. Manhattan showed up on the scene.
I am pretty sure Dr. Manhattan was a former member of the Blue Man Group who after a freak accident found that he could manipulate matter. Oh and I forgot to mention that he is naked… for about 99% of the movie. First I would like to know how a movie with prolonged scenes of male frontal nudity can be rated R. Then I would like to know how anyone could possibly take that movie seriously after the numerous scenes of him multiplying himself. Why can't Dr. Manhattan at least throw on a pair of boxers? In real life it would be awkward if your friend turned blue. I bet it would be even more awkward if he turned blue and lost his clothes. For these people it seemed pretty normal.
I consider myself to be pretty secure with my sexuality but I have to draw the line somewhere. I cannot believe that I paid an insanely high admission price to go watch a guy walk around naked for three hours.

Wow, you were actually bothered my some minor male nudity? I am assuming you have seen male genitalia before so unless you are more squeamish about your sexuality than you care to admit, it should not be a big deal. (Continued…)
