Jeffery Cookson, the Kettering University student who ran seven miles of the Crim on crutches this past summer,
completed his comeback over work term, running in the the Age Before Beauty 5k Cross Country Race on Wednesday, Nov 25. The race, organized by USA Track and Field Connecticut, was part two of that organization's Cross Country Grand Prix.
Asked afterwords about the condition of his leg, Jeff was upbeat. "It feels fine. . .it took a little while, but I'd say I'm at 90 percent. . . I just have some overall improving left because i stopped for three months." The Kettering student seemed not to mind coming back to a busy schedule, running not only in the November 25 5 kilometer race, but also in an 8k cross-country run the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
Was the slow recovery difficult? Jeff brushed the question aside. "Yeah, but every race I've seen improvements, so I'm happy."
