Dear J,
It is only first week and my roommate already stunk up the room. What should I do?
- Plugging my Nose

Dear Plugging, I've seen this gone about 2 ways:
The first way would be to hide air fresheners all around the room and spray Febreze any chance you get. This requires a lot of work on your part, as well as lots of sneaking around and money.
The second, and most preferable, is confronting your roommate. We are all adults here, even though some don't act it. I'm sure if you politely let your roommate know that he smells like a port-o-potty at a NASCAR race he will understand. Explain to him that keeping clean is a good habit that not only affects him but those around him.

Dear J,
I tried to park in the faculty parking lot this morning, and campus security told me I couldn't! This has never happened before. Having to walk from the lot behind Thompson Hall might leave me emotionally scarred. What should I do?
-Footsore

Footsore, it is sad to hear that walking from one end of our "HUGE 4 building campus" to the other has left you scarred. If there are no parking spots in the student lot and campus security is watching the teacher's lot like a hawk check the front of the CC; there may be some spots up there. If you must park in the back lot you should try exercising more so that the walk is not so strenuous. Maybe you could even stop at the Rec. Center on your way back.

Dear J,
I'm a freshman and have never spent the winter in Flint. What is there to do? Is it safe to drive? How long until the snow goes away? Any advice?
-Dreaming of Florida

Dreaming, Winter in Flint is rough. Its snowy and the roads never seem to be plowed. It's safe to drive if you know how to drive in the snow; if you do not then it may be difficult. My suggestion is to find an unplowed side street and re-teach yourself to drive. This can also be fun in ways like drifting around corners and power sliding into parking spots; the snow is full of many opportunities. Please do not hold the Technician or me responsible for any broken property or tickets. Also, I found this page on the internet: "333 Ways to get kicked out of Wal Mart". Take a look at it!
