Local Theatre Group Shadowcasts Rocky Horror Picture Show

Over Valentine's weekend, Buckham Alley Theatre presented the Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast at McKinnon Theater. The production was brought to Kettering thanks to Amber Dillard of Buckham Alley Theatre, as well as many students here at Kettering.
Buckham Alley Theaters has been performing alternative theater in the Flint area for over 25 years. Even though the organization hasn't had a stage to call home for the past three years, Buckham Alley Theatre has managed to stay around through donations from patrons, as well as support from the Greater Flint Arts Council. Their main fundraiser is the annual Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast. Due to the loss of their theater, this most recent production is the first time they have been able to perform it in the past three years.
The show was originally planned to be performed around Halloween in 2009 at a larger venue but, due to insufficient funds, the production was delayed. Since they were unable to perform over Halloween, they figured that the next big holiday that nobody usually does anything for is Valentine's Day, so they rescheduled and planned to have the show performed over Valentine's Day weekend.
Thanks to Amber Dillard, Wallee Keating, and Robert Marias, Buckham Alley Theatre was able to perform the show at McKinnon Theater here at Kettering. Through facebook and other methods of advertising, students at Kettering got involved in the production. After three weeks of hard work, the production was finally on stage again.
